Bets of the Week: The LPGA Tour Makes a Drive On Stop in Georgia

This tournament is a bit of an oddball to bet on. This tournament was added to the schedule just over a month ago to help fill what would have been a five-week gap of LPGA Tour play. Instead, this is the first time the Tour visits Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
With no track record to fall back on, there’s a major emphasis on recent performance in the picks of the week. The 104-player field has three of the top 10 players in the world this week.
Odds for the event can be found here courtesy of mybookie.
Carlota Ciganda (+2000)
The two-time winner posted her best finish of the 2020 season at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship of (-7) for T3. Ciganda battled Covid-19 during the break, yet came back strong with dueling top 16 finishes to open the restart. In one of the weaker fields of 2020, the Spaniard has an opportunity to win for the first time since November 2016.
Bet: 5 units to win 100 units
Jennifer Kupcho (+3000)
It’s back to back appearances in contention for Kupcho over her last two starts, with playing in the final group at the Shoprite LPGA Classic on Sunday and finishing T7 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. She went back to the college clubs that found her so much success in her amateur career before the ANA Inspiration, and Kupcho broke a four consecutive missed cut streak with a T22 finish before a second-place finish next to the Jersey Shore. Kupcho is set up to follow the Mel Reid script, following a disappointing finish in contention with a win in her next event. 30 to 1 feels pretty good for Kupcho becoming a Rolex first-time winner.
Bet: 7.5 units to win 225 units
Yealimi Noh (+4500)
Yealimi Noh is building a strong resume before her first win. She’s finished in the top 6 in 17% of her career starts on the LPGA Tour. Unlike many in the field, Noh played this course at an AJGA Tournament in 2018, the AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational. The American continues her run of consistent golf, with a T33 finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship marking her seventh consecutive made cut. She just missed out on a playoff at the Cambia Portland Classic a month ago. That additional experience on the course makes her a worthwhile bet at 45 to 1.
Bet: 5 units to win 225 units
Gaby Lopez (+6000)
Sensing a theme of those who placed in the top 10 at Aronimink? Lopez, like Ciganda, is recently recovered from Covid-19. She won at the beginning of 2020 at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions for her second career victory.
Since the restart, Lopez has either had the same result or improved from her previous start. She finished T59 at the AIG Women’s Open, Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, and the ANA Inspiration, T28 at the Cambia Portland Classic, T27 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, and T9 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. That trend is appealing for a two-time career winner at 60 to 1 in a weaker field.
Bet: 5 units to win 300 units
Bianca Pagdanganan (+16000)
At 160 to 1, it’s worth betting on Pagdanganan holding onto the lightning in a bottle she captured with back to back bogey-free 65's at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship en route to a career-best T9 finish. Pagdanganan has not missed a cut in her rookie season in six starts and is the longest hitter on the LPGA Tour by over four yards.
Bet: 2.5 units to win 400 units

Maria Torres (+17500)
Torres WD’d after her caddy tested positive for COVID-19.
